This month’s HYPE G! is Pinky Tang, one smoking hot mouse model. As we got to spend a few minutes with Pinky, we learned a great deal about her past and her future destinations. Read on to find out more!

Please tell us a little more about yourself.

I just started modelling recently and so far, I guess, it is pretty fun. I have worked with a lot of people and met a lot of interesting people. I came from Hong Kong when I was six years old. I’m concentrating on modelling and just recently started doing some background work. I’m also thinking of taking some acting lessons because I’ve gotten pretty lucky, being featured in American Pie 7. I was featured in a few scenes and thought it was not bad to be acting in front of a camera. It was kind of funny because they told me not to stare at the camera and I tried so hard! It’s hard because for photo shoots you stare right into the camera, but for these shots you can’t.

How did you start modeling?

A lot of photographers just asked me to do photo shoots. I have done some a few years ago but it was not consistent. Then, I just started going forward with it and looked to where it took me. I have fun in front of the camera so if I get paid for it, it’s even better.

Tell us about the rigors of modeling.

Working with new photographers is always a challenge because you’re not comfortable with them and it shows in the first shoot. You have to be really comfortable with the photographer to get good shots. I try to work with people that I get to know first.

How has your life been changed due to modeling?

I’m doing something I want to do. It’s not like I’m getting paid a lot but as long as I’m doing something I like to do then I am happy.

What is your future modeling goals?

I’m trying to get into the whole print work and everything. I did a few fashion runways here and there and it was pretty cool. I guess my goal right now would be more men’s magazine, just because of my height and body type; it’s a lot easier to get into men’s magazines like Maxim and FHM. I got featured in UMM and I’m up there right now.

If modeling has the power to change one thing in the world, what would that be?

I’m starting a project up with a girlfriend and we’re trying to raise money for the SPCA. It’s going to be photo shoots and whatnot and it will be a calendar. I would like to see more people doing something not for their own benefits.

What was your most displeasing gig?

Just working with those creepy photographers that are always asking you to take off your clothes. I do a lot of lingerie and swimsuits but it depends on the photographer. The first one I had was definitely creepy and he does shoots for men’s magazines and he kept telling me to take off my clothes, which I was uncomfortable with at that time. It was pretty creepy. I have also worked with some where I haven’t even seen the pictures yet.

Where would you like your modeling career to be?

At first, honestly, I was only in it for the money. I don’t really have too much of a goal because I’m just starting out and I’m seeing where it all goes. I’m pretty lucky with everything so hopefully it will blossom into something more.

What do you most like wearing while modeling?

Jeans and dresses and nice gowns. I’m comfortable with my body and have done lingerie but I would love to do a wedding gown shoot or more dresses.

Are you with anyone at this moment?

How does he feel about you modeling these sexy poses?

At first, I was hesitant to do it because the type of modelling that I do is for males. I was scared to show him pictures but he is really cool with. He is always telling me to do better and he’s just proud of me. He wants me to do what I want as long as I’m happy. I’m really lucky to have this because I know a lot of guys just can’t handle it and I understand because how many guys want other guys staring at their girlfriend’s body?

What is the largest misconception the public has with models or modeling?

Just a pretty face. They think that we’re just a pretty face and that we’re a model because we look good. I think there are a lot of smart models and they know how to promote themselves well. A lot of the models are just really nice people but there are the catty ones.

What would you be doing if it weren’t for modeling?

If it weren’t for modelling, I was thinking of taking a course to teach English in Japan. It would be pretty cool because you get to travel around and be somewhere else and see their culture. If this doesn’t take off, then that’s where I will be!

What do you do when you’re down? How do you bring yourself up again?

I talk to the one person that I usually talk to: my boyfriend. He’s great and he puts up with me. It’s either that or just hang out with girlfriends to clear my head.

Do you rely on your friends and loved ones? Or are you Miss Independent?

I try to be Miss Independent as much as possible but sometimes you just need someone there for your rough times. It’s good to know that I have the people that I can rely on.

What or who inspires you?

My dad inspires me. When we moved, he wasn’t the richest guy; he worked two jobs for about 13 years just to build what he has. He has taught me to work hard and it will all pay off in the end. He has a house and a good family so he inspires me to do well in life and to push myself to do better.

What is HYPE?

HYPE is just getting everyone rowdy. I don’t know what other word to use. It’s just getting everyone excited about something, no matter what it is.
