On Nov 23, 2008, Richmond Almeta Lions Club did their first event and they hosted a fabulous fashion show. We got the chance to work with Jade Fan, the president of the club into bringing you a full coverage of the event. This fashion show featured a catwalk model presentation from Show Attitude and there were many other great surprises throughout the night!

The justalilhype! Crew arrived during the start of the show at 10PM. It was held at The Palace Banquet Hall, and we were greeted by both Jade and her VP, Jessica Cheung. They kindly gave us a lot of the layout of the show and gave us information on what were the special guests that were performing. Then, we were guided to the front rows of the walk way and where our reserved seats were.

The show started with Sonny Wan and Nina Pham, whom were both the hosts and MCs of the show. The first portion of the show allowed guests to enjoy food and cocktail drinks from the bar. They also sold raffle tickets throughout the reception of the show, which went towards a continuing fund for donation to charity. After that, the show started with a fabulous entrance by the models. There were about a dozen of models and the models include: Ariel Fan, Isabella Xu, Cindy Tien, Abby Zhao, Danika Jia, Sophia Peng,Anna Peng, Jessica Chan, Vivian Chan, Alice Liu, Iris Tung , and Melissa Leung. The catwalk presentation was great as it really showed the models’ “GLAMOROUS” side and really made Show Attitude’s fashion collection bloom in full effect.

We were also able to enjoy a beatbox presentation from Mickey, a dance performance from Dead Beat Ninjas, and finally great music from DJ Omniscity. At the end of the show, all of the event’s coordinators and models walked through the walkway once again and then the audience were allowed to take pictures and meet all the people that performed throughout the night.

Throughout the midst of all this, we got the chance to interview Jade Fan on various interesting questions.

What inspired your club to hold a fashion show?

I was inspired to organize this cocktail fashion show party because i wanted to bring a new fresh innovative idea to the table instead of the usual sit down Charity Galas. A cocktail fashion show party seems to be an attractive event for young adults today.

What does it mean by “GLAMOROUS”?

Glamorous just means to show attitude in what you wear and to feel comfortable wearing something other our normal ordinary clothes.

What were the selections of the models based on?

The models were customers of Show Attitude which is why it fits them so well. In addition to this, there were students of Prince Sports institution and members of the lions club that were also models.

How did you and your staff HYPE this event up?

My staff and I did a lot of promoting for this event through Facebook and word of mouth. Some of us work for promotion companies so we have our target market.

What are upcoming events from the Richmond Almeta Leo Lions Club?

The next upcoming event will be a “Valentines Can Drive Lunch”, it is still in the process of planning.
