THE POWER OF HYPE

HYPE is constant, ever changing at the same time, and at many times, people would oversee its significance in our daily lives. HYPE is all around us. It’s important to understand how to utilize the potential of HYPE into searching for what you want. Seeing the HYPE before others and anticipating the next phase of trend means you have control or “THE POWER OF HYPE”.

From historical times to present days, people always would always look for ways to predict the future. People search for religions, gods, powerful figures, or kings for advices on what’s going to happen next. Nowadays, people look into the world of media into what to follow, what to dress, what’s cool and what’s not. Perhaps it’s already evident that people that believe in advertising the way people used to believe in Kings and Queens.

The above was brought up because marketers and advertisers are the ones that predict and do research to predict HYPE. Truly, HYPE is a feeling and being used in such a sense is deceiving. Everyone has their own definition of HYPE but commercialization generalizes it. They tell you the definition of HYPE, and tell you what HYPE is. In fact, you already know what you want but because of lies and deception from what you see on billboards, TV screens, and ads from all factors, you lose your control of HYPE. The media industry and giant cooperations takes your sense of HYPE away…

“Find your HYPE and take control of it; the power is yours and shouldn’t be controlled.” Now in talking about Vancouver, the low power of HYPE is very crucial. Vancouver is a city with a blend of many people from different cultures and aspects. When you sit on a bus or the skytrain, you can be amazed on the different skin tones or languages that can exist in one facility. There’s DIVERSITY within HYPE but people have strong passion for different things in their cultures and lives. What if one thing that’s HYPE within one culture can be share with the another? Of course, there’s traditional factors that we must put in to acount, but imagine a community where people share their HYPE from different views and attitude with respect. Vancouver holds the POWER of that as it is one of most multicultural cities on earth and this is our power.

Through justalilhype!, I want people to realize the importance of respect to all forms of people in what they do for our city. Whether fame or underground, it is important to know that there are people out there that are in control of their POWER and is doing great things to expand our city’s low level of HYPE. If you don’t take anything from this article, please beware of HYPE around you. TRUE HYPE and FAKE HYPE, and the power of each. TRUE HYPE leads to the search of your dream. Search for your own HYPE, it’s an important notion of self-realization and truth.
