On Feb 28, the justalilhype! crew visited SUPERBORED for it’s launch and it was also a day where Chet Lam and WRONGWROKS visited the store for a quick meet and greet. The two have recently collaborated together and made a series of T-Shirts called the LYFE project, stemming from his own label, LYFE Music.
The day was exciting for many. Chet Lam is a notable Hong Kong independent singer who incorporates most of his song styles as “city-folk”. The LYFE name first started as his name for his music label back in 2003, with records distributed by Warner Music and East Asia Records.
Some of his recent awards includes winning the “Best Folk Artist” at the Chinese Music Media Awards in 2005 and “Best Music” award at the Hong Kong Annual Theatres Award in 2008. Below is an interview done with Chet Lam on his LYFE PROJECT BRAND and views on our city.
How did this all happen? LYFE X WRONGWROKS
First off, I am a fan of Tony’s WRONGWROKS brand. He has been wearing this brand in various concerts and shows. Recently Tony’s visit in Hong Kong allowed us to discuss upon further possible ideas for my LYFE PROJECT brand. We talked and talked and finally got this started. The one frame design on this cartoon character represents no limitations. There were only two sweaters made ever for Tony and I but you can support us by purchasing our T-Shirts!

What’s the concept of the current design of the T-Shirt you are wearing now?
First off, this is another LYFE and WRONGWROKS collaborative brand. It’s a very exciting project as I have always been a WRONGWROKS’s fan. This T-Shirt contains a photograph that I took in Scotland at the shores an it’s a photo of a seagull and a swan, looking parallel to each other. I would say it’s a very simple shirt with a very simple message but at the same time effective. We added a old saying, “I am glad that you did not fall in love with me”, at the bottom of the photo to portray this LYFE message.
What do you think about Vancouver as a city?
I love Vancouver. One of my favorite places in Vancouver is Granville Island and I would go to music concerts there when I visit. This city is defintely a very good place to reside in. Everytime I come, I would check out housing prices, seeing which areas hold higher value and why. It’s such a nice place to relax!
